About Me

I remember the day I found out he had children. I was appalled. I never date anyone with children and I couldn't believe he lied to me! We met online and exchanged written conversations when he dropped the bomb. The "child" word. I immediately logged on to our dating site to review his profile so I could confront him on this huge omission but to my surprise (and shock) there they were. All of them. Pictures. Descriptions. Everything. Nothing about his divorce or having children was hidden. I simply did not notice! I like to think now, looking back 2+ years later, that God (or whatever powers that be) blinded me from this matter so I wouldn't miss out on the opportunity to find love.

Whatever it was, fate, God, temporary illiteracy; I find myself dealing with an ex-wife and 2 children in my current dating relationship. I never pictured myself with children and I surely never dreamed that I'd have an ongoing threesome (get your mind out of the gutter) wherein I'm involved with a man and his ex-wife. I don't think anyone ever does.

As the relationship progresses, and I sense a marriage proposal around the corner, I find myself in uncharted territory. I don't know anyone in my "circle" who has stepchildren or deals with an ex-wife on a consistent basis. I don't know of anyone personally who is trying to navigate when to say, "I hate that ex-wife of yours!" or if it's best to keep their mouth shut just and smile in support instead. So here I am, blogging in hopes of finding you. Finding support. And finding my way in a new role.
